Zoe Lister-Jones and Adam Pally play a married couple who’ve become jaded with each other and spend a lot of their time together bickering about petty cohabitational issues. When their marriage counselor bails on them, they turn to writing punchy, lo-fi, garage songs as a way to exorcise their grievances. The two have such good chemistry, and don’t come off as being genuinely contemptible to one another that you might wonder why they hold on to such inconsequential differences, but as is the case with a lot of relationships showing cracks, their issues lie deeper than what’s seen at surface level. Band Aid’s songs are catchy, the characters are endearing, and the marital disharmony feels honest. Kudos to Zoe for filling her production staff with almost 100% women too.
