I finished this book feeling like I still have no idea who Gabourey Sidibe is, other than the fact that she complains a lot. The whole book felt like she was holding back. She tries to present herself as just a normal, humble, awkward girl. Then she has an entire chapter about how having 2 million dollars and a Manhattan apartment doesn’t mean she’s rich. It should be interesting to read about how she randomly got cast as Precious, how she felt about the role, what it was like filming, and what it was like to get nominated for an Oscar. She barely talks about any of that. Instead she complains that Andre Leon Talley from Vogue talked about her behind her back, how annoying it was that the movie was named after her character, and how her paycheck wasn’t enough.
