This was one of the first memoirs of recovery I read. Gripping, easy to identify with, and written with elegant simplicity, it created a false expectation that all such memoirs would be as good. I quickly followed Ninety Days with Clegg's first memoir, Portrait of an Addict as a Young Man, a harrowing story. That, too, was good, but I prefer this one, because of its emphasis on early recovery. It brought back some very beautiful memories. I strongly recommend this to anyone in recovery, no matter the substance.
