To start with this was a great action, "who's the mystery bad guy" book with a bit of sci-fi thrown in, but in the last few chapters the sci-fi took over and it became more an existential, "peace on earth and goodwill towards all men" kind of book, which I didn't like. In the last 2 or 3 chapters the tone of the book completely changed and the author seemed to be trying to tell us something about what he believes is the only way create "peace on earth and goodwill towards all men." I didn't think the last chapters fit with the rest of the book at all, they seemed to almost be written by two different authors. I would still recommend this to fans of Sawyer (since finishing the book I have learned that Robert J. Sawyer is a famous and frequently awarded sci-fi writer) as most of the book is really fast paced and full of action and mystery.
