This is the book to educate yourself on the investment world, particularly for those who have already suffered through the disappointments of trusting paid advisors and high-fee mutual funds. The lessons here echo our own ten year experiences as neophyte investors. Save yourself some grief on the learning curve and take control of your investments. The level of "how-to" is very broad and the simplicity recommended makes a lot of sense. Market info is through mid-2011 so the circumstances are relevant today. We've already suggested this as essential reading to friends and family who are reluctant to delve into preserving their own wealth by "taking charge of your own money." We've done a lot of reading leading up to retirement and this is plain-spoken language for ordinary folks, not for financial would-be day traders.
