This was a quick read, and very engrossing. I enjoyed the view into a family story set in a particular time and place in history.

Andrew Gross's Button Man and The Last Brother appear to be the same story?

I really enjoyed this book. The story is based on the true story of the author’s grandfather. The main characters are Jewish immigrants who make their way up in the garment industry in New York City. Along the way, they have to contend with members of gangs such as Murder Incorporated, so there are many characters whose names and histories the reader will recognize. The story is very well written; it moves along quickly and the characters are very real and have depth. All in all, a really excellent read.
