So good! PMJ is a musical collective with a rotating collection of musicians who collaborate to produce great music. They take current/popular songs and rework them with a vintage feel - there's lots of 20's jazz and swing, as well as various other genres. They are well known for their extremely popular YouTube videos. And their 2019 tour will be bringing them to our neck of the woods (Mar 10, 2019 at the Winspear in Edmonton). Check them out!

I discovered Post Modern Jukebox from Youtube videos circulating on social media of Scott Bradlee's ensemble. They perform modern music hits in 20's and 30's-era jazz, blues and r&b styles. Over time, I began enjoying the PMJ versions of the songs more than the originals. PMJ also introduced the strange-but-incredible vocalist 'Puddles the Sad Clown' (Mike Geier). If you've seen any of the Scott Bradlee/Post Modern Jukebox videos with him, you'll know why that description fits. An unusually tall vocalist who dresses as a clown in his performances, his haunting baritone voice creates amazing renditions of the songs he covers. Singer songerwriter Lorde even declared his cover of 'Royals' to be her favorite version. If you've heard it, you might agree.
