Too much boring filler details; not enough plot, character development, or fun. I gave up half way thru this one.

Julie James lost her fabulous editor, Wendy McCurdy. The Thing About Love isn't as good as Ms. James' earlier books. It's a good beach read, but it lacks the sass and sizzle of her earlier books which were edited by Ms. McCurdy.

I've read all of them except for her first: Just the Sexiest Man Alive. My favorite is A Lot Like Love which the library sadly doesn't have in paperback. A close runner-up is Practice Makes Perfect.

It's been a fun beach-book-binge.
