I had a difficult time reading this book. It just didn't keep me interested. I usually like Patterson's "Alex Cross" books but somehow he missed something in this one. Perhaps Mr. Patterson is turning out books a little to quickly and they are losing substance.
story of road rage, mystery, murder and military mayhem.......cops getting killed, innocent
people getting shot while driving and bad guys getting blown away...mediocre read....
It was so nice to have an Alex Cross book again. Although the book didn't have the depth of James Patterson's earlier books, it was a good read. The ending was a little flimsy but I still liked it.
I have read about 3 of the Alex Cross book/James Patterson. Know he's popular, buton this one, he just "mailed it in". It was terrible - and the insertion of the families' activities (all overachievers in their on way) and conversations, particularly those of his "Nana Mama", were insipid. After the first three chapters of those, I just skipped the rest - they added nothing to the story. Ugh. Also, thought Patterson or editors were asleep in a few spots. Early on he described one of the protagonists as having a cap pulled down on his head, then shortly after said the person had "spiky hair". (How does he notice that when the person had the cap pulled down?) And, the story ends with one of the bad guys still on the loose with a container of Sarin gas, but Patterson lazily lets the book run out with the lame phraseology that everyone knows who he is and he will be caught soon..." , and with "Nana Mama" winning the lottery - after Cross secretly changed the numbers she always played. PUH-LEASE!
This is a great revenge story; dumb broad texting--take her out. Thugs and drugs bugs--take them out. Then Patterson gets taken with himself and incorporates a cheesy ending that could have been left out, for the better.
The story starts well and builds through the story, but like most of Patterson's novels the ending is disappointing. It's almost as if Patterson gets bored with his story and looks for quick ways to bring his stories to an end. As they say in Monty Python, "ooh, I thought that was a bit predictable!".
Having said that, for people looking for a uncomplicated mystery/thriller that is an easy read this is a good read.
One of the best. This one kept me on my toes until the end. I love James Patterson and the Alex Cross series as well as The Murder Club , Private and Michael Bennett books.
I love the Cross series. Though the plots are similar I still enjoy reading each book as soon as I can get my hands on it!
I love Alex Cross.
Thank goodness James Patterson wrote this alone and not any of his Co authors. It is nice to read his words and not someone else's. Of all the books his name is on I will always look forward to the Cross series and this one did not disappoint.
This is the ways we leaned to love Alex cross and James patterson.
