#1 New York Times bestselling author J. R. Ward's novels of the Black Dagger Brotherhood continue as a vampire warrior crosses the line between life and death...and ventures into an erotic world of dark dreams and darker desires.

Ever since the death of his shellan , Tohrment has been unrecognizable from the vampire leader he once was. Physically emaciated and heartbroken beyond despair, he has been brought back to the Brotherhood by a self-serving fallen angel. Now, fighting once again with ruthless vengeance, he is unprepared to face a new kind of tragedy.

When Tohr begins to see his beloved in his dreams--trapped in a cold, isolated netherworld far from the peace and tranquillity of the Fade--he turns to the angel in hopes of saving the one he has lost. But because Lassiter tells him he must learn to love another to free his former mate, Tohr knows they are all doomed....

Except then a female with a shadowed history begins to get through to him. Against the backdrop of the raging war with the lessers , and with a new clan of vampires vying for the Blind King's throne, Tohr struggles between the buried past and a very hot, passion-filled future...but can his heart let go and set all of them free?

Yet another thumbs up for Wards writings. I cursed, I laughed and I cried * like a big ol baby even, tissues repeatedly*. It was so beautiful. I was glad Tohr gave No'One a real name. Not sure what the other commenter was complaining about.
I also would love to hear about Lassiters story.

My least favorite of the series. Tohr gives her grief for not being 'real', but encourages her to use another name when she accepts Autumn and not her real name. Seems very much a rebound relationship and I feel sad for 'Autumn'. No bonding scent. I hope she finds someone else down the road..the woman hasn't even had time to figure out who she is and what she truly needs.

Please Note: I do not have, nor have I ever had this book from the library. I print out my list of books ordered and check them off when I receive them. Once read, books are put back into the library bag so I know it was never received by me and misplaced. I let it go thinking that it went to someone else by mistake and that it would eventually be returned, however, this book has now shown up on my borrowed list for the third time and I want to assure you that I do not have it.
I did receive a book meant for someone else in my bag and immediately phoned the library and it was picked up and given to the proper person. I am wondering if this happened with "Lover Reborn" but not returned.

This one was sad for me - I didn't get the satisfaction of true love as with the other ones; even though Tohr was one of my favourites at the beginning. I am confused what will happen after Tohrment and Autumn die and go on to the "Fade" - Will he rejoin his true love - Welsie or be with Autumn; Maybe a "three-way"?

I love all of these books, but I have to say this one wasn't one of my favourites. As quite a few others have mentioned, the whining about Wellsie just got to be too much. It also was a lot tamer than some of the other books. I was more interested in all of the other characters she included. I can't wait for Blay and Quinn's book, been waiting for that one forever.

More than anything, I love J. R. Ward's writing style. She combines wit and humour with interesting metaphors to make her stories so much more enjoyable. I also like the fact that her male characters hold the females in high regard and treat them with respect. This book did tend to dwell a little too much on the whole "getting over Wellsie" theme but that was to demonstrate how committed the males are to their mates. All in all, it is a great summer read.

I was not particularly eager to read sad sack Tohr and equally sad sack No'One's story. I'm not going to lie - they are sad sacks in this novel. Pretty much all the way through the novel. But there are some sizzling hot bits in this novel, and I loved the further exploration of John Matthew and Xhex's relationship, the Band of Bastards - particularly Xcor, and the setting up of Blay and Qhuinn's story. I am so looking forward to Qhuay! So, over all, reading about the two sad sacks wasn't that much of a dreary task considering all the other positives in this book.
