P.I. Regan Reilly and her husband Jack of the NYPD Major Case Squad find themselves up to their necks in a case that takes them from the beautifully preserved Victorian resort town of Cape May at the southern tip of the Garden State, to the casinos, shops, and boardwalks of Atlantic City, and to the music halls and restaurants of Asbury Park.

Since she grew up in Summit, New Jersey, Regan has many old friends who frequent the sandy beaches that line "The Shore," and she runs into many of them while working this case. But there's one friend in particular she almost doesn't recognize - and there's a good reason for that...

Didn't care for it at all. This was the First CHC, though I love MHC. I was disappointed. I felt that the story line was lame, I like much more drama. No real element of surprise.

I was glad to read that others thought there were too many characters. I haven't read another book using a garage sale as the back drop- it was a nice change!

There are lots of characters in this book and I had a bit of difficult time keeping them all straight. Good story line. This is a quick summer read.

Way too many characters. It gets confusing jumping from one to the other.

She's not as good an author as her mom but her series is still enjoyable. It's not often that I feel an author gets better as time goes on. Sometimes I feel like they run out of ideas and the books get boring. Not so with CHC. Her books get better.

This book could have used a list of characters. There are over two dozen (but I lost count), some of whom appear only in a single paragraph. I finally quit trying to sort out the confusion and just concentrated on the basic mystery. Otherwise, the book is full of action, as usual.
