The science fiction epic of our time has arrived.

Three years ago, an object one hundred miles across was spotted on a trajectory for Earth's sun. Now, its journey is almost over. As it approaches, two competing manned vehicles race through almost half a million kilometers of space to reach it first. But when they both arrive on the entity, they learn that it has been sent toward Earth for a reason. An intelligent race is desperately attempting to communicate with our primitive species. And the message is: Help us .

"An immense object is approaching Earth. Two manned vehicles race through space to land on its frozen, desolate surface: one launched by NASA, the other representing the Russian-Indian-Brazilian Coalition. Both crews have orders to do whatever it takes to claim it as their own.

But the entity is not simply a rock hurtling through the blackness. It has been sent to Earth for a reason. A vastly more intelligent race is desperately attempting to communicate with our primitive species. And its interstellar courier carries a message that the very core of humanity has responded to since time began...

Help us..."

This is a fairly quickly paced book. I had a hard time putting it down for long. The storyline draws you in and you begin to identify with the characters. They are all too human, with their own strengths and weaknesses. I am looking forward to reading the second in this series.

why re-write a classic or should I say rip off a classic idea. arthur C. Clarke wrote a better version of this 20 years ago. the Rama books are much better.

Science Fiction with a deep philosophical premise. Well plotted story with great characters, cannot wait to read its sequel “Heaven’s War” coming out in July 2012. A thoroughly entertaining read!

High praise for the Richmond Hill Public Library Overdrive E-Book service, easy to use, lots of books to choose from, great interface, quick download to smart phone, desktop, and laptop….borrowing, reading, returning at the tip of my fingers, super convenient!!
