Extraordinary account of the WWII tunnelers who dug beneath the Nazi army fortresses to plant explosives.
An excellent movie with interesting characters.
The format of back glances at "real" life before and even during the war gives the viewer pause.
An interesting look for this viewer at engineering, mining and soils sciences.
I always get excited when a Canadian is included. In this case, our Canadian soldier has been at his post in the tunnel three months and is more than a little affected. Sorry, but I have not been able to find the character or the actor's name.
As most of the ratings say, good story about a battle of WW-1. I watched the movie first then discovered the "extra" item. This is a great addition from the producer, director and main actors. If you watch this movie, view the extras first and this will add a lot to what you see and hear.
Great story of allies tunneling during WWI. These basturds fought with shovels and turned the tide. The rest of his crew should have been decorated!!!
Absolutely one of the most gripping and realistic movies of WW1. - Take the infinite hell of trench warfare under constant fire and then add muddy, cold claustrophobic tunnel war . -Every character was excellently played - the tough, nonchalant Aussie soldier - the boy who left home for adventure, the snob of a British officer, the down to earth Australian officer, the ruddy faced blimp of a British Colonel who might have stepped
right out of a Sassoon poem - they were all there !
This will stay in my memory alongside The Blue Max and Gallipoli !
It was O.K for a home TV movie. I was entertained and interesting. But it was NOT worth the long library wait or the price to rent from a Red Box. "I fast forwarded a lot but not all the way.” B+ movie!!!!
