I love how the writers introduce real people and events into the plots. I enjoy the costumes and, most of all, Murdoch's inventions!

this show is phenomenal in my opinion. Genius writers and producers. I love the cinematography of the show

I resisted watching this show for years because I don't, as a rule, like "period" pieces. I was completely wrong in this case - I love, love, LOVE this series!

DNF(Did not finished)!!! What a poor production/adaptation of this author's novel/series. I struggled to watch through two discs and couldn't take any more. I did not nor could not find any reason to believe that it would get better. Sadly I had to say, stop...let it go!!

This is one of my favourite shows. Appropriate enough for children to watch and most of the mysteries are not too easy to solve. It veers away from the novels quite a bit, but all in all, an excellent boredom buster with decent acting and general historical correctness for the most part. I would definitely give it a try if you haven't already. Looking forward to the upcoming season on CBC!

Very poorly made, the main actor has so much makeup he looks like a kabuki. We didn't watch more than 15 minutes. (First published 7/1/12. CENSORED. I reposted 8/12/12)

Excellent series. Good mysteries, lovable characters, some fun, some romance. What more could we want ?

I was home sick and watched the entire first season - loved it! Interesting to see the status of forensic science in the late 1890s. Also made me gladt to be female a century later rather than in the 1890s. Not a lot of career options for women in the 1890s although it's nice to have a pathologist on the show who is a woman - and that she's not a ditz. She appears to love her work! the addition of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was interesting, too.
