This book is only available from my library as an e-book - like, really - a cookbook? Ended up ordering it from Chapters - wish the library would do the same.
I love this cookbook. The hippie loaf with smashed potatoes and brown gravy was delicious. The enchilada casserole was really good too. The recipes seem decadent, but are healthy and low fat. I'm going to buy it.
This is such a great cookbook! Even if you are not a vegetarian or vegan, these recipes are healthy and relatively simple to prepare.
It's a great book. Most ingredients are easy to find. Recipes easy to read and understand. Sometimes, It's difficult to different foods (recipes). This book give you good ideas.
Love this book. It doesn't have a lot of weird ingredients that you're only going to use once for one meal. I've found most of the recipes to be budget friendly and very good! For a family that has recently started eating a plant based diet- this is a great book. We use the cheese sauces on everything!
My absolute favorite cookbook hands down. Always an abundance of approachable dinner ideas!!
A great book if you are becoming vegan and looking for classics that don't always rely on tofu, yet incorporate some amounts of whole wheat flour. For example, there's a tofu-less French Toast, pancake recipe, Easy home fries and easy sweat potate fries in the breakfast section. Whole wheat pasty flour is used in the cinnimon buns. It has become obvious to me that if you are going to go vegan, a food processor is really a must. The soups are weak, but there is a ridiculously easy buddha's delight recipe and a cheater pad thai that looks pretty easy. A Hippie loaf looks like a much improved version of an alternative to meat-loaf without the TVP disaster I had last time. Lots of fairly simple dessert recipes. There are some recipes that refer to other recipes, lots of spicy dishes, and some use of processed foods (e.g. vegie parmasean). Maple icing. No cook applesauce. Brown rice milk.
I liked this book. It is a good mix of everyday recipes and slightly more difficult ones. The only thing I didn't like was the gratuitious use of dried onions and garlic in the recipes.
