What a lovely romp. Quite unrealistic, but what can you expect from an american comedy.

A wonderful film demanding that Americans just lay back and enjoy being mindless sheeple, that losing one's job is only really good when the soon-to-be unemployed get to train their replacments. Remember, 1984 never really happened and your Corporate Big Brother loves your sheeple behavior!

When Todd Anderson’s job gets outsourced to India, he is sent to train his own replacements and teach them how to sound American. Outsourced takes us from the rain-filled tech savvy city of Seattle to a bustling and bewildering India. Todd finds that by rejecting the life India has to offer all he does is lose, but when Asha starts to show him the magic of all that’s around him he starts to fall in love in more ways than one.

When a young American executive is sent to India to train a group of telemarketers the resulting culture shock causes him to re-examine his priorities in this intelligently written and very enjoyable romantic comedy. Issues of poverty, globalization, and outsourcing of jobs are touched upon but this remains a fluffy feel-good film and in that respect I found it a great deal of fun.

This is a suitable movie to teach geography high school students about the need for open minds and cultural understanding when travelling overseas.

The movie that inspired the 2011 sit com by the same name.

'They' say that this movie was in bad taste and controversial...well, it was funny and explores the adjustment of an american novelty sales manager whose work and department has been 'outsourced' to a calling center in India.

A clash of cultures and hillarious interactions between Western ingnorance everything Not-american...and a willingness of a people to improve their way of life by working for this american company in a land of strange foods and loving people.

Tod must navigate the culture and seeks to be accepted; during the way, he learns that America is not alone on this planet.
