Slog's dad was a binman and he died young. He tells grieving Slog not to worry, he'll come back in spring to say goodbye one more time. Come spring a man appears on the park bench. Slog knows it is his dad come back. Goes to talk to him. Man says all the right things then hugs Slog for good and leaves. Friend is skeptical, awestruck, worried, and amazed all at once.
Told through the eyes of Slog's best mate. Illustrated, sort of half graphic novel. No words with illustrations, just text, then illustrations.
