Some good tunes, but the vocals get a bit screechy after a few songs. They're kinda like Tobasco sause... good in small doses but a different story if you chug the whole thing.

Amazing album!! For me, the lyrics to these songs are just poetry and I can't get enough of them. The song Tornado '87, which I first heard on the radio, holds a special place in my heart because I was alive when that tornado hit Alberta. If you've heard that song and you liked it, the album is really worth checking out!

This is a really great disc and very catchy. If you like Ron Sexsmith or the Jayhawks you'd really like the Rural Alberta Advantage. A few of the songs were maybe a tad slow so I don't know how often I'd feel the urge to re-listen to it so hence not a 5 star review, but still, a very strong folk-rock, indie-alt-rock album.
