To keep young journeyer Wynn Hygeorht out of the way for as long as possible, the Guild of Sagecraft gives her a tedious mission. But Wynn has her own plans. Along with her companions, the vampire Chane Andraso and Shade, an elven wolf, she sets out in search of a dwarven stronghold that may well be the last resting place of a mythical orb- one of five such mysterious devices from the war of Forgotten History.

Now a direct descendant of that war's infamous mass murderer, the Lord of Slaughter, is tracking Wynn. If only that were all she had to worry about . . .

I love the entire series! This particular book is also a great improvement in the grammar department. They must have changed their editor. I was blown away by the ending. I did not expect it at all. How ever am I going to survive until the next installment comes out?

Loved it! I'm never disappointed in the series. Was thrilled with the ending, but not to thrilled about waiting a year for the next book to come out.

I enjoyed this book. I thoroughly enjoy science fiction and love a book that can draw you into the story. This story gives you another side of a vampire - Chane. This one did just that. I would recommend this book.
