I'm not your average hero. I actually wasn't your average anything. Just a poor guy working an after-school job at a South Beach shoe repair shop to help his mom make ends meet. But a little magic changed it all. It all started with a curse. And a frognapping. And one hot-looking princess, who asked me to lead a rescue mission. There wasn't a fairy godmother or any of that. And even though I fell in love along the way, what happened to me is unlike any fairy tale I've ever heard. Before I knew it, I was spying with a flock of enchanted swans, talking (yes, talking!) to a fox named Todd, and nearly trampled by giants in the Everglades. Don't believe me? I didn't believe it either. But you'll see. Because I knew it all was true, the second I got cloaked.
This is a modern retelling of the Princess and the Frog. When the princess comes to visit in a small town, the boy who works in the coffee shop is completely smitten by her beauty. The princess and him begin to develop a relationship and a secret is learned. The princess sends the boy to find her brother who has been cursed and turned into a frog. The boy must lift the curse to keep maintaining a relationship with the princess. It was a good book, with a good plot base and well developed characters. - @bookwormanonymous of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
Great modern day, fairy tale mix-up adventure! I borrowed it for me and my teen son ended up reading it first, and liked it too. The cover is deceiving tho-should be a shoe or cloak and something that would appeal to boys, since the main character is a guy.
What is the name of the hotel Johnny and his family have their shoe shop in? I need it for a school project I'm doing, and I don't have access to the book.
This book was just a bit too "teen" for my liking. The main character just didn't seem to be able to put two and two together. I wish teens got a bit more credit. It was still fun and I liked all the obscure fairytale tie-ins.
I disagree with the negative comments? What are you reading?!?! I loved Cloaked more than Beastly. I love how Flinn incorparated all the fairy tales together! It was beautifully written and I super appreciate a good book that isn't twilight!

I completely loved this book. I completely love this author and i highly reccommend this book. It was a very happy read, at times suspenseful when need be and I mean from beginning to end i was hooked on this book. i really loved the way she incorporated all the different fairy tales and intertwined them ever so perfectly. GO READ IT! I don't agree with any of the comments here. I've read quite a few of Flinn's books, and this is one of my favorites.

I liked it. It was cute and fun.
Really amazing. I hadn't heard of most of the fairy tales in it but it wasn't that important to the story

This was a good book, but I liked beastly more.
