When world governments are simultaneously attacked by soldiers in giant mecha robotic suits with the swastika symbol of the Third Reich on their metal arms, the metahuman superheroes that worked for so long to protect their governments suddenly seem helpless. If these were Nazis, where had they been hiding since the end of World War II? And where had they gotten armor and weapons far in advance of anything on the planet?

I generally Love Mercedes books, but I had a hard time getting into this one at first. Which surprised me since I'm usually sucked deeply into most of her books within the first couple of pages.

The story is well written over all though & I can definitely see parts of where she drew from the online game City of Heroes of which we were fellow players in. It's a pity that the game has become lost to us due to the head office of the game co-producers deciding to shut the MMO down.

Would recommend this to any one whom likes gritty modern Sci-fi/ Fantasy dealing with super powered beings & Invading forces.

A different type of book from her. Three of the authors may not be profesional book writers(games are another story). Belladonna and Vic are engaging heroes who have a low tolerance for people who think they are helpless and should stay out of the fights. Bell is damage control and Vic is infrormation and both will get into battle if they think they are needed.

Not worth finishing. After 100 pages, decided even though I'm a dedicated Lackey fan, this was more suitable for a teenage boy.

Don't get into a fight with a healer. The people who put you back together can also take you apart.--Belladonna Blue, after taking out a serial killer.
