Salt is an action-packed movie starring Angelina Jolie as the main character. She acts as a CIA officer who was actually a spy and double-agent for Russia. This movie is full of amazing stunts and action scenes. The ending contains a huge twist that didn’t seem would happen. I personally enjoyed this movie, as it was very entertaining for an action movie with a female lead. It was full of twists to keep you guessing what side she is really on. Many parts did seem unrealistic but it was made to be entertaining, and it did its job. I would definitely watch this movie again in the future. It is a great movie for action/spy genre-lovers. I would rate this movie 4.5/5 stars.

A real good movie. Fast moving, lots of action. I watched all three versions and liked the third
ending best.

I enjoy watching strong female characters. Decent story with good action. Jolie does her own stunts.

5 stars for female-led action movie! (without over-sexualization or a male co-lead or any of the other things they do to take female leads down a notch) I like that the husband plays the typical damsel and protagonist-motivation part instead.
But only 2 or 3 stars for the convoluted story that doesn't make much sense or seem realistic. They tried too hard to keep making "twists."

Superb thriller 5 STARS.

Yet another entry is the sad transformation of Jolie from actress to figurehead. Salt is better made than many of her productions, but none of them even attempt to make her a real character, as her press has eclipsed any possibility of her giving an actual performance. Now she just does sequences. ( And most of them are action sequences).. One worries for her, or hopes that as her glamour fades a bit, she can again get back on track as the really compelling actor she deserves to be. You can do it, girl...and many of us are still waiting to see you fulfill your early promise.

For a spy thriller, I thought the plot was weak. Action packed and great acting by Angelina Jolie, but her character was hard to root for. The movie feels like an attempt to start a "Bourne Identity" style franchise starring Jolie. While I wasn't too impressed with Salt, I'd still watch a sequel if they made one.

Angelina Jolie as a dish-water blond!? Angelina Jolie as a frowzy brunette!? In my opinion, Angelina Jolie's Evelyn Salt character was a spice-girl who definitely needed more than just a dash of pepper to liven her up...... (Spoilers ahead!)

I can't begin to tell you how riveting "Salt's" opening sequence was with Angelina Jolie (that's AJ, for short) being beaten to a literal pulp by the furious Korean soldiers, while all the time pathetically claiming "I'm not a spy! I'm not a spy!" You know, AJ seems to have been born to play these sorts of scenes of violence.

But, following this one, isolated incident AJ's frail-looking character always retained the upper hand (unfortunately) as she repeatedly pulverized and annihilated more bad guys than you could possibly shake a stick at.

This, of course, was one of "Salt's" major, messed-up downfalls.

If equal numbers of women had been included in all of agent Salt's kick-ass, Matrix-style brawling then, yes, its story might have held some potential. But, as it clearly stood, this film's sexually-biased, anti-Russian, male-annihilating message simply sucked, and then it sucked some more.

To have been fair to me as the viewer, I think that the tunnel-visioned screenwriters for this film could've at least tried to develop Evelyn Salt into something of an interesting and likable character. But no attempt was made in that direction, at all.

And, hey, let's face it - As a typical CIA pencil-pusher, Evelyn Salt was just a little too resourceful (and too damage-proof) for my liking.

A real killer-diller moment in "Salt" was when Ev, showing her amazing "superpower" potential and agility, managed to jump, from floor to floor, down the inside of an elevator shaft. (Phew! When the CIA trained its agents, they didn't kid around!)

Filled to overflowing with asinine situations, fluky flaws, and plot-holes galore, this $110 million production (for which AJ was paid $20 million) was originally intended to be a Tom Cruise vehicle. (Like, can you frickin' imagine that!?)

Brilliant film.
Clean your teeth, go to the bathroom for you won't need to pause this excellent story.

It was a bit far-fetched in a couple places, like when she vaults from one floor to the next down a sky scraper elevator shaft, and when she leaps from the roof of one semi to the next barreling down the interstate, but I wasn't bored for a moment. This is a high quality film with an excellent ending.

Violence: I watched the unrated extended cut and it opens with a torture scene. There are also many fights (bloody, broken bones), lots of shootings, and two drownings.
