Nic and Jules are in a long-term, committed, loving, but by no means perfect relationship. Nic, a physician, needs to wield what she believes is control, whereas Jules, under that control, is less self-assured. They have two teenaged children: Joni, who is Nic's biological child, and Laser, who is Jules' biological child. A big-hearted, sexy, and uproariously funny movie that combines comedic surprise with poignant emotional truth.

I have saw this dvd in stores i was going to buy it but scine i see you have it i won't buy it but something told me in the store you have it so thats good.
This is about a lesbian couple and their two children. The teen children find their "sperm donor" dad with sad results.
I checked out this movie as Mark Ruffalo was in it. He was excellent, but the movie was not uplifting and was actually rather sad.
A hateful, hate-mongering piece of JUNK. You would have to be a stereotypical man-hating bulld*ke to regard this movie's snide condemnation of the father figure as anything other than loathsome. Strictly for the anti-male, isolationist, estrogen crowd.
I love this movie. The outstanding cast brings these characters to life. I especially love Julianne Moore as the insecure Jules, formerly a stay-at-home mom who is now trying to get her landscaping business off the ground. The speech Jules gives toward the end of the movie in defense of her awful behavior is so funny and so human and so insightful. Highly recommended for anyone who likes realistic comedies about non-traditional families.
A very good cast makes this an enjoyable movie. I thought the story was ok, some good laughs and the story moved along well. Sure it’s not going to win an Academy award but it’s way better than a lot of the crap out there.
Morally offensive, in terms of the way the Ruffalo character gets shafted, while the smug, self-righteous Annette Bening caricature is held aloft as some sort of beacon of family values, when really she's just a condescending, ersatz liberal slime. The movie, unfortunately, doesn't just portray her mindset; it shares and endorses it.
very good
Movie is all right. Pun intended. But not sure what the fuss is about.
Not bad... had some laughs & was mildly entertaining. Julianne Moore was believable, I really liked her character. The ending was disappointing. You're left to wonder what the point was.
I took out this movie because josh Hutcherson was in it but i regret taking it out. This movie has a lot of innapropiate parts and its not for childen. I turned it off after a couple of mintues, it is really bad, you should not take it out!
