Is this based on the Robin Cook book?(Haven't read it)

Starts off reasonably entertaining. Hoffman is fun to watch, the plot is engaging, and the dialogue is pretty snappy. Unfortunately, in the final act, the film is swallowed in a load of silly, left-wing propaganda that destroys any and all believability and entertainment value.
