If 9/11 are the numbers of terror and despair, then John 3:16 are the numbers of hope. This title leads readers through a word-by-word study of John 3:16, the passage that the author calls the Hope Diamond of scripture. It also includes a consumer music CD featuring top Christian music artists.

This book is not one of Max Lucado's better books (see: Grace).

This book contains way too much fluff and filler (as evidenced by the "3:16ed Life" found at the end of the book), with Scriptural references used to make the same point within the same chapter (and this occurred on multiple occasions).

The topic of 3:16 while worth exploring and discussing is more of a doctoral dissertation than it is a 200+ page book.

While I would not recommend this book, at the same time I would not dissuade readers from reading it for themselves and drawing their own conclusions about the book.

An absolute wonderful read. It offers encouragement to those who are already living the "3:16ed" life and presents the gift wonderfully to those who need to receive it. Read it, receive it, and share it with someone in need of a life-changing experience!

Just finished reading 3:16. Would definitely do it again. At first your not sure how many ways you can break the 3:16 biblical verse down and keep from being repetitive, but Max does so. The writer gives you insight into one of the most taken for granted passages of the bible. A short 40 day devotional at the end.
