A classic 90's family movie, with just a bit of suspense and practical effects to keep viewers interested, as well as some great chemistry between Robin Williams and Bonnie Hunt.

I was expecting a magical, madcap tale, but that's not what I got. This film is surprisingly dark and un-funny. It's good for a bit of 1990's nostalgia, but perhaps not so good for family movie night.

Kids who find a mysterious jungle-themed board game get more than they bargained for when dangerous creatures from the game begin to manifest in their living room and their only hope is to keep playing. This is another one I don't know how I missed in my childhood, but watching it as an adult, I think I definitely appreciated the humor that would have gone over my head--Helen Hunt's character was hilarious! I was surprised at how creepy some of the creatures were, even though CGI has progressed a bit since this movie was made.

This was an enjoyable movie. Though the animals (especially the spiders) were a bit fake:)

If you like this, I would highly recommend Zathura (exactly the same concept done in sci-fi) and the new Jumanji movie, which changes the boardgame to a virtual reality video game but is not intended to be a remake ... it's a lot funnier and presents similarly-wholesome messages.

I watched this when I was a little kid and had nightmares from it. I watched it again when I was a teenager and laughed the entire time. By far one of the most amusing movies I have ever seen! What made it even more hilarious was the old CGI of some of the animals. The monkeys and the spiders were a little… fake 😉

Dated, yet entertaining. While thoughts of Goonies, ET and even Home Alone (from the same era) ran through my mind as I watched this movie, there was something off. I couldn’t help but notice that Mr. Williams’ presence seemed out of place. This movie is billed as an Action/Adventure flick, but Robin, while talented, looks to be out of his element. He wasn’t being funny, he wasn’t being who we were expecting. He wasn’t his larger-than-life persona we all know and love. Maybe he was miscast or the director simply told him to “tone it down”. Maybe in doing so, there wasn’t really one character who took the proverbial “lead”. Maybe, apart from the CGI animals, it just wasn’t special?

Great movie for kids and teens.

This movie is full of adventure and whimsy that will cause you to feel scared, happy, and sick all at once. Siblings Peter and Judy find an old jungle-themed board game in their attic named Jumanji, which grabs their attention and makes them want to play. However, this releases Alan, a man who has been trapped in the game for years because he never won. In order to stop the game and release Alan, the two siblings must find a way to beat the game and survive a series of horrific events such as giant bugs, lions, monkeys, and more. This crazy and exciting film will leave you feeling shocked and excited all at once. Although a few of the special effects were disappointing and the directing was subpar, the story is still a 90’s classic and worth the watch. I would rate this film 3.5/5 stars and recommend it to those who love adventure and comedy.

I like this movie so much. I have watched it 100 times or more over 3 years, but I don't mind watching it again. I like Robin Williams as an actor very much. He is so funny! I am pretty sure that everyone has watched this movie because it is so old, but it is still an interesting movie and appropriate for all ages. I liked the last scene. It was so funny when Jill's parents wanted to go skiing but Sarah and Allen shout no!! I give this movie 7/10. And I recommend it for everybody.

A classic movie starring the legendary Robin WIlliams. This movie is a grand tale about a cursed board game come to life. A movie any real teen should watch, it is an amazing story that is a one-of-a kind concept. A dark fantasy, there are some parts that can be scary, but Williams' comedic efforts help to make the movie more light-hearted and fun.

Jumanji is a film about a board game called Jumanji which is no ordinary board game. It all began with a boy named Alan Parrish and a girl named Sarah Whittle who unknowingly rolled the dice and began the game of Jumanji, which unfortunately has trapped Alan Parrish in the game. 26 years later, a new family moves into the same house in which Alan lived, and two children, Judy and Peter Shepherd roll the dice in the game of Jumanji and finally, Alan is released and now a completely grown man. Together, the three must finish the game but, they are missing one player, Sarah Whittle who is now a grown woman and completely terrified to play Jumanji but, with a little convincing she agrees and the four of them do their best to survive whatever the game throws at them and finish it.  Jumanji is filled with action and moments of laughter and I personally thought that this was a great movie and I would definitely recommend watching it even though it is somewhat old, and there is also a sequel coming up with Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson. Overall, I would rate Jumanji 4/5.
