I got this book for my granddaughter who enjoys my Blue Bearry teddy bear. But it turned out to be a blessing for both of us. This is a wonderful story that is bittersweet in the reality of homelessness and yet touching in that the unscarred heart of a child is one of the most beautiful, caring, empathetic, loving blessings we could ever experience! I would set the age suitability to 4 years and up simply because explaining why anyone in this world is or ever could be homeless may be too much and not understandable by a younger child. But what do I know...? I, to this day, still cannot understand the issues of homelessness except to know that so many are working hard and yet living from paycheck to paycheck and if life issues hit hard homelessness could come to those very same people who snub their noses and prejudge others as lazy or derelict instead of just realizing we are all human and in need of a hug! I am so glad that Teddy Bear could embody such a warm and simple truth. Kudos to the author!

This book is amazing. it is so sad and happy all at the same time. it teaches compassion and is an excellent coming of age style story. my son has a beloved bear that he would be devestated if he lost. it would be so comforting to think that this could happen. i loved it.
