The Phantom Menace novelization by Terry Brooks was an enjoyable read. The book's plot circles around Anakin Skywalker, a slave who is freed by the Jedi, joining the adventure of freeing the planet Naboo from an oppressive blockade. Terry Brooks is a talented writer who brings the world of Star Wars to life; this book really surprised me. It was enjoyable, fun, and full of additional, interesting scenes cut out of the film. The relationships between the characters, especially that of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Shmi Skywalker, Anakin, and Qui-Gon Jinn, are developed more solidly than in the film. If you aren't the biggest fan of the film, I will probably say this book isn't for you. But if you want an interesting sci-fi adventure, then give it a read. I'll give it a 4/5. It is an entertaining and enjoyable book.
