I couldn't watch much of this movie. It was stressful both in what ballet can do to the body as well as the pressure, harassment and jealousy that exists within the field. Additionally, there were far too many characters who were totally…

Natalie Portman offers an exquisite performance in this high-art horror film. This viewer was enthralled by the beauty of the ballet world but the psychological suspense had me pacing the floor at the end! Recommended if you enjoy…

My wife told me to give it a 5 star rating. I was not that high because I don't really understand the art. But it seemed to be based around perfection and how for some that can be a psychological problem.

While I respect Portman's performance, I can't say I really liked this movie. After its debut, its meaning was highly misunderstood. After watching it, I can say I was also pretty confused. After doing some research here and there, I got a…

This story of film was totally unexpected. Had one guessing what is real and what is not reality. One never knew if one has missed the clues or not. But it shows in a thrive for perfection , the price is often very high, especially when…

Have wanted to watch this movie for awhile and really liked Natalie Portman. I was surprised to see Mila Kunis. The storyline was confusing at times between what was real and what was in Nina's head. The movie is good, not great.

Directed by Darren Aronofsky in 2010 based on an original story by Andres Heinz, this American pseudo-psychological drama delves into rivarly between two ballerinas.

Black Swan was, without question, a really heavy-handed and depressingly bleak look at the escalating insanity of a dreary and delusional ballerina. Actress, Natalie Portman was clearly the wrong choice for the title character.
Dreary! Can't even give it one star. Watched the entire movie only because I kept thinking it would get better, boy was I wrong. This movie is not a good endorsement of ballet.
This psychological thriller and mystery follow Nina, a ballerina who has perfected her technique and dedicated her life to the art. Nina is a shoe-in for the role of the White Swan, a very important role in their new performance, however,…

Definitely had me intrigued in the beginning but towards the end it came off as cheesy and rushed. Didn't like Natalie Portman's docile character (even though she killed it at the end) Mila was solid though but overall a decent watch.

I originally ducked into the movie theater to get out of a storm, happened to see this was next up, so without ever seeing a review, saw a movie I thought would be a ballet romance, but instead was one wallop of a horror-thriller film ---…

Since being "mad" was the only way Nina could play the Black Swan "perfectly", it had me wondering just when this daft girl was gonna lay an egg. I'm not kidding.
A psychologist friend of mine (who's also seen this film) tells me that…
