Join local agriculture enthusiast and entrepreneur Carlene Schneider and delve into what exactly is necessary for a family to meet their needs:

- the number of plants

- size and type of beds

- number of beds

Learn how you can improve yield with companion planting. Seeds are supplied.

Presenter Bio: Carlene Schneider was raised and educated in Ontario, attending the University of Guelph, majoring in horticulture and business. Since moving to Alberta in 2004, she has found one great opportunity after the next within the agriculture, rural development, and reclamation sectors. The purebred Angus farm she is lucky to live on is nestled between Elk Island National Park and Edmonton. With her family, the farm is evolving to include a market garden business that allows her and her family to connect with their community.

Grow Your Own is a unique series of partnered programs designed to bring beginner to expert gardeners together. In collaboration with the Colchester & District Ag Society, Colchester Community League, and Strathcona County Library, Grow Your Own aims to support you in creating a sustainable food supply for your family. Enjoy a meal together, learn together, share ideas.  

Minimal cost of $15 for supplies.
