Art Lovers Book Club

2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Strathcona County Library

Description

Cost $5/person

Enjoy an afternoon talking about books and making art! Spend the first hour discussing a novel with the library staff, then head to the Gallery@501 Art Studio to create your own artwork inspired by what you've read. No experience necessary. All supplies included.

We'll be reading Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. Set in a post-apocalyptic time, Emily St. John Mandel's novel Station Eleven spans time and genre. A theatre troupe, a doomed actor and the collapse of civilization all weave together into a surprising narrative. In the studio, create a painting inspired by the novel.

This program takes place at Gallery@501. Please register through Strathcona County Recreation Online https://reconline.strathcona.ca/ Course ID 22997.
